About St.George

St.George is Australia's fifth largest bank and one of the top 20 publicly listed companies in Australia, employing over 9,000 people.

Its national operations span all aspects of the financial industry including retail banking, institutional & business banking, and wealth management. At the Bank's core is a close relationship with its customers and this remains the cornerstone of future strategies, an important tradition that distinguishes St.George from other Australian Banks.

Founded in 1937 as a housing based financial institution, St.George built a reputation as Australia's foremost building society, before achieving full banking status in July 1992.

St.George's core strategy is one of organic growth, harnessing the potential in the franchise and building on its strengths and capabilities. These strengths include a track record of superior credit quality, positive customer service ratings relative to the industry, and product management and product innovation capabilities.

Excellent Service, Great People

The Group has a philosophy of continuous service improvement, which is supported by a consistent program of investment in the business. This is designed to lay a platform for future growth.

The quality of service we deliver and the positive attitude of our staff, combined with the goodwill and loyalty we receive from customers really does set St.George apart - and we want it to stay that way.

Excellent customer service is not only about meeting needs, but also consistently exceeding service expectations. Our Star Awards recognise individuals in the Group who go above and beyond what's expected of them - those who provide exceptional service.

In the last year, we've awarded our people with over 4,000 Star Awards, with selected 'SuperStars' recognised at special group functions attended by their teams and senior management.

In The Community

At St.George, we believe that everyone should have a chance to grow. That's why we strive to play a positive role in the community by supporting charities, the arts, sporting clubs, business programs and disaster relief initiatives. We also recognise our important community function as a major employer and financial services provider.

In our business, we provide a wide variety of financial products and services to suit each individual customer's needs. These include fee-free accounts for pensioners, student accounts, special accounts for concession cardholders and a range of specialised products for rural customers.

St.George actively participates in the Australian Bankers' Association's Disabled Access Working Group to ensure our branches, ATMs and other facilities are accessible to people with a disability. We are also linked to the National Relay Service, which helps deaf, hearing impaired and speech impaired customers conduct their banking.

Customer Research

St.George conducts regular surveys with customers to provide us with valuable feedback to help continually improve our service to you. As a customer, you may be called to participate in two surveys, Customer Satisfaction or Brand Tracking.

Customer Satisfaction asks about our customer service and your branch visits. This survey is conducted by a company called Jones Donald Strategy Partners.

Brand Tracking asks about what advertising you might have seen and your opinions of banks and is conducted for St.George by Ipsos, part of the University of South Australia.

Both of these companies are legitimate agents of St.George and you have been chosen at random from a list of customers. The interviewer only knows your name and phone number, they do not have access to any details of your finances.

If you wish to talk to anyone about the surveys or request not to receive anymore calls, please contact Customer Relations on 1800 804 728 or customerrelations@stgeorge.com.au.
